Augmented Reality Design
Delano Las Vegas / Robert Knight / Maryanne Bilham
Case Study: Knight-Bilham at Delano Las Vegas 9/17/2015
Perhaps this is a growing trend in interactive art galleries. I am honored to have designed and produced an augmented reality platform for the Delano Las Vegas, Robert M Knight and Maryanne Bilham for their inaugural photo exhibition for “Knight-Bilham • Defiantly Inspired”.
Visitors were able to stroll through the gallery with their mobile device and scan each photo on display. The visitor will then get augmented reality content on their mobile device such as audio commentary from the artist, text and parallax photo animation – all to enhance the gallery experience and get closer to Robert Knight and Maryanne Bilham’s work and their subjects.
This interactive tour featured artists such as Lorde & Jimi Hendrix and emerging artists such as Lyric Dubee, Elijah Wood and Amanda J. Hardy (who turned out to be a Kentridge High School alum like myself).
After rolling this creative methodology out at the Delano, Delano is now planning to implement this method for their own on-property campaigns.
The videos and photos were taken from the VIP launch on Thursday, September 17th 2015 at the Delano in Las Vegas.
